Randall (Founder)
While mainly focused on software development as a day-to-day job, Randall discovered a love for embedded systems and getting hands on with electronics from a young age. From implementing a draft version of WebSockets on Arduino to building a dice roller using PWM and potentiometers to save some money, physical electronics became a great way for him to make code affect the physical world and do cool things.
After picking up the guitar again after a decade, Randall realized that guitar effect pedals offered a new world of analog to his understanding of digital electronics. From the first kit build, he was hooked. Through every build and every issue (of which there were many), Randall discovered that the world of effect pedals was vast and storied. It was because of this he decided to found Straight to Ground to make the world of do it yourself guitar pedals more approachable to a wider audience.
